Serve Locally

Some of our local missions opportunities include:

Celebration works through a partnership with Straight Street Ministry to provide food to families in Hall County. Children in need receive backpacks of food each Friday to sustain their entire family for the weekend before they can return to school on Monday and receive meals. Celebration currently provides 24+ backpacks of food each week to a local Elementary School in Hall County.

Pack Backpacks: Join us as we pack backpacks every month during the school year on the 3rd Wednesday at 6:30 PM in the foyer.

Shop: We are always in need of dried beans, bags of rice and canned fruits & vegetables. Food may be dropped off in the basket in the foyer anytime.

Birthday Party Volunteer: Help provide a small birthday party for a child enrolled in the program.

Christian Library International serves adult and youth prison inmates by providing Christian books, Bibles, CDs, and DVDs to prisons, jails and youth detention centers. The new and used materials are shipped directly to chaplains who distribute them by means of a lending library, a book cart or by personally giving them to the inmates. God matches up just the right book, with just the right inmate at just the right time.

Processing Center – Celebration Church works locally by processing books at the local processing center as needed.  Activities include sorting, packing and stamping books.

Donate Books – We welcome your donation of any and all books.  The books that cannot be used by the program are sold to raise needed funding for the program.  Books can be dropped off in the mission room anytime or in the foyer during our annual book drive.

Bible Ministry Program – As a participant in this program, you will communicate directly with inmates (anonymously) by providing comments on their weekly written Bible studies.  Studies are mailed directly to your home and you are given an answer key so you do not have to be a Bible scholar to participate.

FaithBridge is one of the fastest-growing, private foster child-placement agencies in Georgia. Celebration Church is working to close the gap between those who need help and those who want to help. We have monthly informational meetings on the second Sunday of the month at 9:00 AM here at Celebration.  Room location varies.

FaithBridge uses a small group ministry model called the FaithBridge Community of Care that surrounds foster families and foster children in loving, stable environments made up of trained volunteers. The Community of Care helps find resources, such as clothes and toys, and act as an extended family, providing respite services (overnight childcare), tutoring, babysitting, mentoring, transportation and other assistance, when needed. Whether you are interested in becoming part of our Community of Care or ready to be a foster family, the first step is to attend one of our monthly informational meetings.

Good News at Noon provides food, shelter and education to homeless men in crisis while seeking to share with them the good news of Jesus Christ. The Center is also open to the community for church service and meals during the week.  Celebration has the opportunity to serve these families and homeless men by providing meals on the second Tuesday evening of every month.

Meal Ministry – Help us provide an evening meal for these people in need! On the second Tuesday of every month, we gather at the church at 6:30 PM to prepare and pack the food and then head up to Gainesville together to serve the meal.  We usually arrive back at church around 8:45 PM.

Children’s Ministry – We are also in need of volunteers to help with the children’s ministry at Good News at Noon.  In addition to serving a meal on the second Tuesday of the month, we also spend time with the children before dinner.  We meet at the church at 6:30 PM to carpool up to Gainesville and spend time with the children from 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM.  Activities vary but examples include helping with homework, games, reading and Bible stories.

Throughout the year, additional opportunities are available to work on special projects as we partner with Under the Bridge Ministries in Gainesville, Edgewood Church in Atlanta and the Georgia Mountain Food Bank. In the fall, our Women’s Ministry also hosts a day of service where women gather and go out into the community to be the hands and feet of Christ.
