The Attitude of a Servant
“Suppose one of you has a servant that has been working in the field. The servant has been plowing the ground or caring for the sheep. When he comes in from work, what would you say to him? Would you say, ‘Come in and sit down to eat’? No! You would say to your servant, ‘Prepare something for me to eat. Then get dressed and serve me. When I finish eating and drinking, then you can eat.’ The servant should not get any special thanks for doing his job. He is only doing what his master told him to do. It is the same with you. When you do all the things you are told to do, you should say, ‘We are not worthy of any special thanks. We have only done the work we should do.‘”(ERV) Luke 17:7-10
Some of our local missions opportunities include:
Good News @ Noon
Celebration serves families and homeless men in the Gainesville area by providing meals on the second Tuesday evening of every month at the Good News at Noon ministry. Good News at Noon provides food, shelter and education to homeless men in crisis while seeking to share with them the good news of Jesus Christ.
Help us provide an evening meal for these people in need! If you are able to help with meal, contact Angie Bowling.
Celebration works through a partnership with SS Revolution to provide food to families in Hall County. Children in need receive backpacks of food to sustain their entire family for the weekend before they can return to school on Monday and receive meals. Celebration currently provides 20+ backpacks of food/week to local schools in Hall County.
We pack backpacks every month on the 3rd Wednesday at 6:30 PM. We are in need of dried beans, bags of rice and canned vegetables. For more information, contact Kathy Hyder.
Faith Bridge Foster Care
FaithBridge is one of the fastest-growing, private child-placement agencies in Georgia. Celebration Church is working to close the gap between those who need help and those who want to help. We have monthly informational meetings on the second Sunday of the month at 9:00 AM. For more information, contact Lindsey Martin.
Christian Library International
Christian Library International serves adult and youth prison inmates by providing Christian books, Bibles, CDs, and DVDs to prisons, jails and youth detention centers. The new and used materials are shipped directly to chaplains who distribute them by means of a lending library, a book cart or by personally giving them to the inmates. God matches up just the right book, with just the right inmate at just the right time! Celebration Church works locally by processing books at the local processing center on the 3rd Thursday of each month. For more information, contact Trish Cummings.
Thanksgiving in a Box
Every year at Thanksgiving, Celebration Church partners with Under the Bridge Ministries to provide a Thanksgiving meal to the homeless and disabled community as well as delivering boxes of Thanksgiving food to people in need in the surrounding communities.
Northeast Georgia Food Bank
This ministry collects food and helps the food bank feed children during the summertime when they are not receiving lunches at school.
