February 27, 2018 Celebration Student Parent Update
From Hunger to Hope
On Thursday, March 8 we have been given spots at an event called From Hunger to Hope to help pack 1 million meals for starving children all around the world. The event is held at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds, and on March 8, we will meet at the Warehouse at 5:30 pm and head to the fairgrounds (we will stop for dinner on the way, so students will need money for dinner) and we will be back around 9 pm. During the pack, we will be filling bags with a combination of rice, dehydrated vegetables, and soy. The bags we pack will then be sent all around the world to help feed starving children. We have been given the spots for free, so we do not have to pay! Brittany and I have been involved in this pack for the past five years, and there is no better way to spend a couple of hours. Thursday night is a specific youth night pack, so we will be packing with youth from all around Gwinnett County. If your child is interested in packing, please follow this link: Hunger to Hope Pack. Space is limited, so it will be first-come, first-served.
6th Grade Night
On Friday, March 16, Celebration Students is hosting a 6th Grade Only night. That’s right, an event only for you 6th graders! We will be meeting in the Warehouse at 6:30 pm (eat dinner before coming) and from there, we are headed to Rockin Jump in Buford to spend an hour jumping on the trampolines. After jumping for an hour, we will return to the Warehouse for a fully loaded Ice Cream Bar! We will wrap up around 8:45 pm. The cost for the night will be $15. To sign up follow this link: 6th Grade Night. Please sign up by March 14.
Raleigh Mission Trip
This summer we will be taking current 6-7th grade students on a mission trip to Raleigh, NC from July 15-20. While in Raleigh, we will be working with an organization called Youthworks. Youthworks has been leading youth mission trips across the country for the past 24 years, and this summer they are expecting to partner with over 1,500 churches, 32,000 participants to serve in over 70 communities all around the United States. While in Raleigh we will be serving the local community by working with children, helping keep the “City of Oaks” beautiful by serving with the Parks and Recreation Department, or spending a morning serving at a local farm gathering extra produce for those in need. Our group’s willingness to serve in whatever way needed will bring real hope and an opportunity to share the love of Christ with others. The cost of the trip is $390. To sign up, please follow the link: Raleigh Mission Trip. The deadline to sign up is March 7.
Nicaragua Mission Trip
The Nicaragua Mission Trip (for current 8th-12 grade students) will partner with Highlands Mission Cooperative to serve the city of Jinotega, Nicaragua. While in Jinotega, Nicaragua we’ll be involved in a number of ministries varying from street ministry, door-to-door conversations with those in the local communities, handing out Bibles, and teaching English in the local schools. We’ll work alongside the local church to share the gospel in their communities. It will be a highly relational trip and students will be expected to be pushed out of their comfort zones. Our goal will be to come alongside Highland Mission’s current ministry to act as a support to the ministry they are already doing in the country of Nicaragua. The cost of the trip is $850 plus the airfare. To sign up please follow this link: Nicaragua Mission Trip. The deadline to register is March 7.

Medical Release Form
Celebration Students works hard to make sure all of our camps, mission trips, retreats, and events are safe and healthy. However, in the event of an accident or an illness, while a student is participating in an event, it is important to have the correct and up-to-date contact and medical information. Therefore, please take a moment and fill out a 2018 medical release form for your child. These forms are good for the entire calendar year of 2018, and you will only need to fill this out once a year. To fill out the medical release, please follow this link: 2018 Celebration Students Medical Release Form.
