Uniform Policy
There is a uniform policy for all elementary school children. Students need to wear khaki or navy slacks, skirts, shorts or jumpers. They may wear short or long sleeve navy, light blue, red, white or pink collard shirts and must wear closed toed shoes. On a designated day each week, children may wear Celebration Academy t-shirts with denim. T-shirts will be provided by the school at open house.

Learning Objectives
We base our learning objectives on the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards educational objectives. These objectives are laid out by the state of Georgia for all grade levels and subject areas, www.georgiastandards.org.

Language Arts
Our language arts program will include the following subjects: Reading, creative writing, phonics and spelling. You will be asked to read with your child for at least 15 minutes every day. Reading will be a major part of your child’s homework each night. We will use Zoophonics and Reading A to Z for our curriculum. Our creative writing program is Writing A to Z, which is a highly successful approach to early literacy.

Math
We will use Go Math for our curriculum. This is an excellent program that allows children to learn math concepts using manipulatives.

Bible
Each week, we will focus on a Bible story or character. The children will memorize one Bible verse per week. We want the children to become familiar with Bible stories, Bible truths and to be able to recite Bible verses. Our Bible curriculum will be Devotions for Young Readers.

Science
Science curriculum the kindergarteners will engage in investigating, observing, hands-on experiments and thinking about the created world. Science allows the students to accomplish these objectives with highly interactive lessons. Our kindergarten Science curriculum is based on the objectives laid out by the State of Georgia.

Discipline
We will use positive discipline in the classroom. This means we will concentrate on a child’s good behavior. Basic rules will be posted and followed. When a rule is broken, a logical consequence will occur. Behavior reports will be sent home weekly.

Evaluation
Student evaluations will be performed at the beginning of the year. This will give the teacher a baseline from which to work. Parent teacher conferences will take place once a year. Progress Reports will be sent home four times a year.
